Ingredients

Scale

For the Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed Oreos

For the Coating and Frying:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 12 Oreo cookies

For the Garnish:

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Additional crushed Oreos, for sprinkling

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:

  • In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  • Gently fold in the crushed Oreos.

Assemble the Oreos:

  • Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, place a small dollop of the cheesecake filling on top of each Oreo cookie.
  • Gently press another Oreo on top to create a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining Oreos.

Prepare the Coating:

  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined.
  • Dip each Oreo sandwich into the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.

Fry the Oreos:

  • In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). There should be enough oil to fully submerge the Oreos.
  • Carefully place the coated Oreos into the hot oil, a few at a time, without overcrowding the pot.
  • Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried Oreos to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Garnish and Serve:

  • Dust the warm deep-fried Oreos with powdered sugar and sprinkle with additional crushed Oreos if desired.
  • Serve immediately while still warm.

Notes

  • For extra indulgence, serve with a side of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
  • Make sure the oil is at the correct temperature to ensure even frying and prevent soggy treats.
