Salisbury Steak is the quintessential comfort food that warms the heart and satisfies the palate. This classic American dish features juicy ground beef patties embraced by a rich, savory mushroom gravy that evokes nostalgia with every bite.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons A1 steak sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon homemade steak seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • Salt and freshly cracked pepper (to taste)
  • 8 oz sliced baby Bella mushrooms

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix ground beef, egg, panko breadcrumbs, A1 sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder until combined. Shape into four patties.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties for 5 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in another tablespoon of butter until translucent. Add flour and cook for two minutes.
  4. Gradually stir in beef broth until thickened; season with salt and pepper.
  5. Stir in mushrooms and return patties to the skillet; simmer until mushrooms are tender.
  6. Serve Salisbury Steak with your choice of sides.
