  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 and 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • Filling: unsalted butter, fresh herbs (rosemary and parsley), minced garlic, shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by combining it with sugar in a bowl. Heat milk until warm (about 110°F), then whisk into the mixture. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add softened butter, egg, flour, salt, garlic powder, and rosemary to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead for about 5 minutes until slightly tacky but not sticky.
  4. Allow dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with plastic wrap until doubled in size (60–90 minutes).
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing soft butter with herbs and garlic.
  6. Punch down risen dough and divide it into pieces; flatten each piece and spread filling before folding.
